A Royal Affair – Dimpi and Aakash Patel’s Dream Wedding!

Happy Customer of saree.com

Many girls grow up dreaming of a fairy tale wedding. But, how many of them actually get to live their dream? Well, it’s not easy for everyone to live their dream. What is quite irksome, though, is that sometimes despite having set everything else in place, the lovely brides-to-be do not get the outfits they envision and desire.

AsoPalav’s special bride Dimpi Patel, however, is the lucky one! She had heard about the Indian Ethnic Fashion leader, since her childhood. So, when it came to her Wedding Lehenga and Bridal Dress, she chose none other than AsoPalav.

Sweet girls like Dimpi are a boon for any stylist/ shop floor assistant. While the dedicated shopping assistants took Dimpi and her family through a tour of the bridal range of designer wedding sarees, reception lehenga cholis, gorgeous party-wear gowns and stylish salwar suits, Dimpi herself clearly stated her choices, requirements, likes and dislikes.

This helped Dimpi and AsoPalav figure out the best, bespoke Wedding Ensembles for her. Variations and fittings to the designer pieces were customized for Dimpi, and here she was – looking bedazzling and bewitching in all her bridal Indian dresses.

Lovely Dimpi magnanimously shared her amazing wedding and reception pictures with AsoPalav and its online partner Saree.com. Now that she is in Rajkot, post her royal wedding, she is a regular at Saree.com. She loves the collection featured by Saree.com, and reveals that there are many awesome Indian ethnic outfits she is smitten by.

Here, we share a spectacular spread of the pictures, covering 3 major events of Dimple’s wedding-to-remember!

1. Phoolon ki sham – an evening of flowers….

Before our charming bride Dimpi wed her prince charming Akash, she had a flurry of pre-wedding events, where looked resplendently ravishing in beautiful designer ensembles from AsoPalav.

On one of her important pre-wedding functions, a traditional ceremony when bride-to-be is lovingly pampered, groomed and blessed by her parents and family, Dimpi was adorned lovingly in cute floral jewelry. For this sentimental occasion, our cute bride chose a dazzling yet subtle Indo-Western, Sharara ensemble in yellow and gold.

Decked in a tiara-of-flowers, Dimpi resembled a little princess, straight out of a fairy tale. In this trendy yet entirely Indian attire, the dreamy, flared net-lehenga in plain golden-yellow is set off by a wide-gold satin border. The top – a long, kalidaar sleeveless jacket embellished with tons of gota-work and sequins, is the same colour as sharara/ lehenga. Isn’t the vibe entirely dreamy?

2. Sangeet Melodies…

The pre-wedding sangeet ceremony is a must in big-fat Indian weddings. Dimpi’s was no less! Here too, she reflected royal grandeur in her Sangeet Lehenga Choli, as she matched steps with her AsoPalav adorned knight-in-shining-armour Akash.

Dimpi looked every bit a radiant bride-to-be on her Sangeet, dressed in a purple and beige Lehenga Choli. Just like her other outfits, here too she chose to maintain a subtle balance, and thus chose an extremely elegant yet stylish attire.

Even the sumptuous rustle of satin and silk, set off by ajrakh and block-print inspired accentuations could not take away eyes off the lively vision-in-purple Dimpi.

3. Wedding Lehenga

Dimpi is open to experimenting, but she and her family were keen on staying close to tradition, when it came to her Wedding Lehenga Choli. So, after multiple trials and deep conversations with AsoPalav staff, she chose this truly majestic, stunningly intricate Red, Green and Gold Bridal Lehenga Choli.

Adorned entirely in hand-done Gota and Thread-Resham work, this bewitching piece in vibrant, sacred Gharchola colours is truly outstanding for its awe-inspiring detail and regal aura.

Since her red and gold lehenga was heavily embellished gota work done over Banarasi brocade, the fashion savvy Dimpi was advised to keep her green silk choli simpler and plainer. This helped her achieve a perfectly modern and balanced look.

A Gujarati wedding is incomplete without an ode to Gujarat’s beloved folk-dance Garba and the festival of Navaratri. Look closely at Dimpi’s picture to see the splendid Raas-Leela (Dandiya and Garba) motifs on the skirt of her stunning lehenga.

Here, Dimpi is seen with her handsome (so happy he looks on bagging such a sweet wife!) husband Aakash – on a chariot! What a romantic way to wed!!

4. Reception Gown

Choosing to pull a curtain on her grand wedding celebrations in true style, Dimpi picked up a sensational and trendy Bridal Gown for her reception ceremony.

The royal-blue yet again blended flawlessly in Dimpi’s favourite gold-beige in this really class-apart Indo-Western fusion Reception Gown. Doesn’t the couple look extremely cute here? May they stay blessed always!

Accentuated by heavy sequins work, this ethereal ensemble has intricate Zardozi Pitta embroidery on the royal blue flair and bodice. This was a simply smashing creation that, despite being absolutely graceful and non-revealing, showed Dimpi’s enviable figure to perfection!

We wish Dimpi and Akash all the luck for their life ahead!
