There are wedding bells ringing everywhere and media is abuzz with pictures of gorgeous ladies from tinsel-town. The last few weeks may have been too hectic for these women with the array of celebrity weddings happening one after the other, but for the audience it’s an absolute delight to be seeing them posing for shutterbugs in the best of Indian designer wear. Amidst the chaos of almost overlapping events, our divas managed to look their best each time! The winter wedding season in Bollywood kicked off with ace stars Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh tying the knot, followed by the cross-cultural wedding ceremony of Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas. The finale of the year was the big fat Indian wedding of Isha Ambani that witnessed opulence and ostentation at its peak. Comedian Kapil Sharma also stepped into this new phase of life with his long time girlfriend Ginni Chatrath.
Eclectic Hues
Indian traditional wear- with its old world charm as well as fusion inventiveness ruled the wardrobe of attendees at each of the grand wedding events. While western silhouettes too were sported by some of the women, like Kareena Kapoor – who graced the star studded DeepVeer reception in a stunning deep-back detailed bodycon evening gown, the Indian ethnic wear seemed to be the favorite for most others. Colorful printed lehenga cholis, metallic zari woven vibrant silk sarees and stylish lehengas were the most common silhouettes spotted at these 3 weddings.
Best dressed women
For us, almost every celebrity walking in was a visual treat – as each of the galas unfolded on social media or television channels! We adore the way our style divas carry themselves so gracefully. Timeless Classic
Madhuri Dixit Nene is one of those few Bollywood beauties who have been growing more gorgeous with time. Wearing a grey-blue coloured floral net saree accessorized with simple traditional jewellery, she had every bit of charm that defines the beauty of an Indian woman. That was quite a graceful look for the DeepVeer wedding reception.

Floral lehenga cholis can never go out of fashion! Whether they’re painted, printed, embroidered or sewn as separate patches over the garment, flowers tend to add instant energy to the overall look. Lara Dutta’s majestic cream and peach silk lehenga worn for Isha Ambani’s wedding function is one of our favourites from all the floral ensembles sported during these days.

Organza delight
It seems women will never get over silk! A crisp pallu pinned up over her shoulder, Katrina Kaif walked in like an Indian Barbie doll. Subtly detailed with flower motifs, pearls and a cutwork border, it was one of the most elegant Indian outfits seen at the DeepVeer reception. We also loved the way Katrina underplayed her accessories, to highlight the simplicity of her garment.

Shilpa Shetty Kundra is one diva who always makes an impact each time she dons a sari! For the Ambani wedding, Shilpa once again showed her love for contemporary drapes by sporting a golden beige net lehenga saree that was indulgently detailed with sequins, stones and cut-dana hangings. We’d love to possess her collection of saris!

Simple and sweet
She’s a doll after all! Alia Bhatt was her cute and adorable self at the Isha-Anand reception. Her outfit was a blue and cream lehenga choli, with ethnic block prints and a shimmery edge. Complemented with a bustier choli and cream net dupatta, her outfit was richly aesthetic. Her simple hairdo and chandelier style danglers went well with the whole traditional look- perfect for a bubbly lady like Alia!

Tradition at its best
Nita Ambani seems to be a staunch patron of Indian weaves and traditional prints. She attended the Nickyanka sangeet ceremony in a light green and maroon tussar silk lehenga choli. The lehenga was detailed with dabu prints and embroidered with Mochi Bharat and tilla-work. The ensemble was completed with an earthy maroon leheriya dupatta edged with zardosi and tilla-work.

Whenever we think about silk saris, the first name that comes to our mind is ‘Rekha ji’. The legendary actress followed her usual style and graced all the 3 weddings wearing zari woven silk sarees. Out of all her looks, we loved the golden and purple Kanchipuram silk sari that she wore for Deepika and Ranveer’s reception party.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas walked in as pretty desi girl for her friend Isha Ambani’s wedding in Mumbai. Her outfit was a full-sleeved peach lehenga choli that matched the post-wedding glow of her blushing face.

A hint of vintage
A bandhani saree never looked so glam! Janhvi Kapoor was an ethereal sight at the Isha-Anand marriage ceremony. Her green and blue handwoven sari had intricate Bandhani motifs and zari woven flower vines. A lace border with gota patti tassels added a festive touch to the saree, which had been perfectly accessorized with a statement choker necklace to give the ensemble a vintage feel. Quite a regal look for an opulent occasion!

Karisma and Kareena Kapoor are two of the leading style icons these days. The Kapoor sisters look resplendent as ever in white ensembles at Isha Ambani’s reception. While Bebo looked sizzling in a white lehenga choli, Karisma had a modest look- clad in a white and golden silk saree.
11. Evergreen Elegance
There are certain people who never lose their charm. Dream girl Hema Malini is one of those old wines – who only get better with age. No wonder she looked like a regal queen in her splendid, burnished gold and pink saree at one the weddings that dominated our media in the past few weeks. We love you Hema Ji – for this is a style statement that every woman can take lessons from.
The wedding season 2018 may have ended for now, but there’s a lot to look forward to in the coming year- award ceremonies, anniversaries and probably new relationships in B-town followed by weddings to keep the party season going on!
